Our Trustee

Tyler Demers Board Representative for Lethbridge Collegiate Institute

Tyler is in his second consecutive term as Trustee. He grew up and was educated in Lethbridge School District No. 51 by way of Lakeview, Gilbert Paterson and LCI. After high school, Tyler went on to the University of Calgary graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. For the past 25 years he has worked in the Insurance and Financial Services industry in Lethbridge.

Tyler has always felt that continuing education is an important aspect of growth as an individual and continues to be a lifelong learner. He has earned three financial planning designations and is currently working on a fourth in conjunction with Dalhousie University.

With two sons still in school, Tyler understands both the joys and struggles of raising and educating children in society today. He is focused on concerns of the average citizen who wants a quality education system, safe and caring environment for children and value for tax dollars. He brings a solid understanding of the constraints of the education system, combined with the knowledge to comprehend the difficult decisions and make choices that are in the best interests of kids.

Tyler believes a quality education is the greatest gift we can give all children in Lethbridge. It is the one offering that helps to level the playing field of societal inequities and differences. True education enhances pride, builds confidence in addition to knowledge, while enriching dignity and self-respect.
