LCI introduces students to the core principles of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on projects, real-world problem solving, and collaborative learning in accordance with the Alberta high school science attitude and skill outcomes. Students will explore topics such as scientific inquiry, environmental stewardship, and engineering design. By integrating these disciplines, students will develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and a deeper understanding of how STEM shapes the world around us. The course emphasizes inquiry-based learning, teamwork, and the application of knowledge to practical challenges, preparing students for future STEM pathways in high school and beyond, including other non-core STEM courses at LCI including environmental science and space exploration.
