How to Request Timetable Changes for 2025/2026

Each year, LCI does everything it can to accommodate student requests for timetable changes.  This includes trying to match students with teachers and move spares to their most advantageous times, all while ensuring students are getting the courses and credits they need.

However, we have over 1,600 students starting the school year with us.  That means that students will also have to be flexible with the timetables that they require.

Please Note – PowerSchool does NOT open until after the school year “roll over” that happens over the summer break.  Therefore, all students will get a paper copy of their timetable from their advisor teacher on Tuesday, May 27th.  (Students with incomplete registrations will NOT get their timetable until after the online registration has been completed in PowerSchool).  Students will be able to utilize the paper copy of their timetable, in combination with the Master Schedule that is posted on the LCI website to make sure they have all the courses they need and where they need them.

Who do you need to reach out to in order to make your timetable change requests:

All timetable change requests will be done via TEAMS.  Students should message their NEXT YEAR’S grade level administrator on TEAMS to make their request.  (Please note that emails, phone calls, or visits in person will not be accepted and will only slow the process down.  The order in which messages are received in TEAMS will be the order in which changes are made)

              Grade 12 – Annett BruisedHead

              Grade 11 – Gordon Vatcher

              Grade 10 – Kyle McKenzie

What is the window of time (by grade level) that you can make timetable change requests in:

             Grade 12 – 10:30 am Tuesday May 27th to 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 10th

             Grade 11 – 7:00 am Thursday, May 29th to 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 10th

             Grade 10 – 7:00 am Monday, June 2nd to 3:00 pm Tuesday, June 10th

Please Note – All timetable change requests must be submitted before the deadline of 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10th.  No additional changes to student timetables will be made until classes resume in the fall.  At that point, students will have until the end of the 1st week of classes to request add/drops.

Please do not start submitting requests via TEAMS before the start time because that message will not be answered.  You must wait until your window opens to submit your request.

Here is what you need to know when making their timetable change requests:

-Grade 9 course schedules will not be released until the 1st day of school next fall.  With that said, grade 9 classes do not flex as class lists are set by teachers in advance and classes move as a cohort.  Grade 9 option changes follow a different procedure which be laid out by David Fuller (Grade 9 Admin) directly to students in the fall.

-Be very specific with your timetable change requests.  The more you tell us, the better we can do to help you when we get to your request.  Tell us exactly what courses and in which blocks you want to add/drop courses.  If you can… tell us what your priority changes are, and which ones you can live without.   It would not be good use of your initial message to be “Can I make some changes? “ or “What other course could I take?”.  Have a clear plan, and even better, lay out your plan in your message with a block-by-block outline of the courses you want added/dropped.

-Please look on the master schedule that will be posted on the main LCI webpage on Monday, May 26th.  This will allow you to look and see what changes are possible and which ones are not before messaging in with your request(s).

-DO NOT message in before 10:30 am on Tuesday May 27th.  Any messages sent in prior to that time will not be addressed.  Wait until you see your timetable in PowerSchool.

-Please be patient with us.  Some grade levels have almost 500 students.  This means that it may take days, not hours to get to your request.  If you re-message just to “check in”, your TEMAS message gets moved back to the end of the que and will further delay how quickly we get to it.

-Please be selective in your requests.  If you have all of the courses you need.  Please ask yourself how necessary is your course request.  With over 1,600 students it will be impossible to make every change that everyone asks for.

Again, the admin team at LCI strives to do its best to get every student their most optimum timetable.  We want students to be with the right teachers, peers, and have the right timetable that will optimize their success.  Please work with us and be willing to be flexible as we work through your requests.
