Band

I'm Samuel Yamamoto, and I teach instrumental music at LCI which includes High School Gold Symphonic Band, Grade 9 Green Concert Band, Guitar 9, Rock & Roll, Gold Jazz Band, and Green to Gold Jazz Band.  I feel lucky to be a part of the LCI community, where I deeply value my connections with my students, fellow teachers, staff, and parents.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education from Brigham Young University (Go Cougs!) and earned my Master of Music Education from Boston University (Go Terriers!).  I've been teaching since 2008 and have been at LCI since 2018.

I love teaching music because of its ability to empower, build self-confidence, and impart life skills.  Music has been transformative for me, and I love seeing its transformative and uplifting effects in the students I work with.  Seeing my students grow and benefit from music has been incredibly rewarding.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy long-distance running, camping, backpacking, cooking, and travelling - and I love doing all of this with my wife and two daughters.
