Drama

My Name is Kelly Frewin, and I became a teacher in 2001 after graduating from the University of Lethbridge. I have a Bachelor of Education and A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama and am currently working on my Master’s degree from the University of New Brunswick.  I have taught Elementary School, Middle School and have been teaching at LCI since 2007 in the drama program and directing the shows there.

I have performed, directed and worked as a theatre technician in professional and semi-professional settings for more than 35 years. I love the art form and I love sharing my passion with my students.

I believe that Drama is a way for kids to start to learn their own self-identity. They get the opportunity to try on different roles and identities to explore who they are and who they will become. They learn ways of communicating in critical ways with one another and learn problem solving skills. They learn to be creative.

I could not imagine a job better than teaching Drama. I get to watch as my students grow in confidence and develop skills that will help them succeed in the future.
