Social Studies

As a dedicated social studies teacher at LCI, I am passionate about guiding students toward discovering their individual strengths and interests. My commitment to education is driven by a belief in fostering critical and historical thinking while encouraging students to achieve their own personal and academic goals. I am deeply honored to be apart of the team here at LCI and their emphasis on high achievement and excellence, which creates a supportive and challenging environment for both students and educators.

I hold two degrees from the University of Lethbridge (BA, BEd), where I majored in History, Anthropology, and Indigenous Studies. This educational background provides me with a comprehensive understanding of diverse perspectives and cultural contexts, which I integrate into my teaching to enrich students' learning experiences.
In addition to my role in the classroom, I serve as one of the Esports coaches at LCI. This position allows me to integrate technology and strategic gameplay into our students' educational experience, promoting skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, problem-solving, and strategic planning outside of traditional academic settings.
My goal is to inspire students to excel both academically and personally, leveraging my diverse experiences and dedication to fostering a dynamic learning environment. My teaching philosophy centers on promoting the importance of personal responsibility, conscientiousness, and a positive work ethic. I aim to empower students to embrace their unique identities, take ownership of their learning journey, and develop the diligence and integrity necessary for success. By instilling these values, I seek to prepare students not just for academic achievements in my classroom but for a fulfilling transition into adulthood.
