Important Registration & Course Selection Dates for the 2025/2026 School Year

LCI is endeavoring to get student timetables for the following school year finalized and in student hands before they leave for the summer break.  This is a huge undertaking and will require a massive shift in thinking in our school community.  There will be an increase on the importance of adhering to deadlines, as well making sure that students are paying close attention to the courses they are selecting.  The dates have all moved up, and we expect to be placing each students 2025/2026 timetable in their hands on Tuesday, May 27th with all changes finalized by June 10th .   Please look at the important dates posted below, and if need be, please reach out to the LCI office for clarification on anything.  Below is a lost of all of the important information and dates that you will need to know to register and select course for the 2025/2026 school year.

Important 2025/2026 Registration Dates:

!!!!   IMPORTANT DISTINCTION IN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS   !!!!

Online Parent Registration Link – This refers to the online forms that parents must complete through School Engage within PowerSchool.  Alberta Education requires a new updated registration form for every student in the province each year.  This requirement can be fulfilled by logging into your parent PowerSchool accounts between the designated dates and updating the form for each of your children.  Detailed Instructions will be emailed to parents the day before registration opens in PowerSchool (March 10th)

Student PowerSchool Course Requests  – This refers to the process where students log into their STUDENT POWERSCHOOL ACCOUNTS and then select the classes they hope to take next year.  Students should make sure they can log into their PowerSchool accounts BEFORE March 11th so they are ready to make selections when the time comes.

Registration & Course Request Dates for Current Grade 8 Students

Online Parent Registration Dates for Incoming Grade 9 Students:

·      Parent Registration opens in PowerSchool for all Grade 8 parents  -  Tuesday, March 11th  

·      Parent Registration must be completed in PowerSchool before  -  Tuesday, March 25th 

·      Mr. Vatcher visits GPMS to present to Grade 8 Students  -  April 9th at 9:00 am  

·      Mr. Vatcher visits SJF to present to Grade 8 Students  -  April 10th at 9:00 am

·      Grade 9 Parent Information Night for LCI  -  Monday, April 14th at 7:00 pm

Student PowerSchool Course Requests Dates for Incoming Grade 9 Students:

·      PowerSchool Option Course Requests Opens to Grade 8 students on -  Monday, April 14th 

·      PowerSchool Option Course Requests Closes to Grade 8 students on -  Tuesday, April 29th 

·      Timetables will be given to the new Grade 9 students on the first day of school

Registration & Course Request Dates for Current 9 to 12 LCI Students

Online Parent Registration Dates for Current LCI Students:

·      Parent Registration opens in PowerSchool for current LCI parents  -  Tuesday, March 11th  

·      Parent Registration must be completed in PowerSchool before  -  Tuesday, March 25th

·      Presentation to current grade 9 students (Grade 10 Orientation)  -  Monday, March 10th 

·      Next Year Grade 10’s Parent Orientation Night  -  Tuesday, March 11th at 7:30 to 8:30 pm  

Student PowerSchool Course Requests Dates for Current LCI Students:

·      Advisor Class PowerSchool Course Request Process Refresher  -  Tuesday, March 11th 

·      PowerSchool Course Requests Opens to Students  -  Tuesday, March 11th 

·      PowerSchool Course Requests Closes to Students  -  Tuesday, March 25th 

Timetable Release & Timetable Change Requests

·      Next year’s timetables released to LCI students in Advisor class  -  Tuesday, May 27th  

·      Timetable change requests open (TEAMS message grade level admin)  -  Tuesday, May 27th 

·      Timetable change requests submission deadline  -  Tuesday, June 10th
