About Me

I'm thrilled to be teaching at LCI as the new band director.  For the last 10 years, I have taught at Magrath Jr/Sr High School mainly teaching band and choir as well as marching band, guitar, and social studies.  I'm happy to bring the wealth of knowledge and experience from Magrath here to LCI.

Ever since I was 16, I've always wanted to be a band director since music made such a positive change in my adolescent life.  I'm now lucky to be able to teach and utilize music everyday as a powerful positive tool in our students' lives.  I have a Bachelor of Music from Brigham Young University and a Master of Music from Boston University.  I'm passionate about professional development and am on the executive council for the Southern Alberta Regional Fine Arts Council.  I have participated in conducting symposiums at Julliard, Boston University, West Chester University, University of Toronto, and University of Montana.  I'm also a curriculum writer for Alberta Education, working with them to overhaul their Fine Arts curriculum.

When I'm not teaching, I'm busy conducting the Lethbridge Community Silver Band, spending time with my amazing wife and hilarious two girls, cooking, camping, hiking, backpacking, traveling, and running & training for ultramarathons.

Please never hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
