LCI SCHOOL COUNCIL

Mission

The LCI School Council exists to support and facilitate the provision of educational opportunities, experiences and challenges for the students and school community of Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, thereby empowering students as lifelong learners, creative problem-solvers and caring, understanding, responsible individuals; and endeavoring to establish opportunities for stakeholders to share information and provide feedback in matters related to making available the most effective resources, programs and services to the students of LCI.

Vision

 LCI School Council strives/endeavors to improve the level of communication and information sharing among education stakeholders on all levels and increase the level of school community involvement in decision-making regarding education matters in an effort to support the school community in delivering the best possible educational opportunities for the students of LCI.

Objectives

The objectives LCI School Council are as follows:

·         To provide an arena for advocacy on educational issues at the various levels of administration and government

·         To facilitate collaboration and communication among all education stakeholders of the school community

·         To provide a supportive atmosphere whereby parents/guardians and other members of the school community can discuss educational issues of mutual concern

·         To provide opportunities for parents/guardians to participate in decision-making at the school and district levels regarding educational matters
