Financial Management 1D/2D
(No Prerequisite) (6 Credits)
This course provides the student with an understanding of the accounting cycle such as journalizing, posting, account balancing and the preparation of financial statements.
This course also studies the accounting procedures for a merchandising business. The student will be introduced to special journals and subsidiary ledgers, year-end adjustments and the preparation of a work sheet will also be studied.
Financial Management 3D
(Accounting) (6 Credits)
(Prerequisite: Financial Management 1D/2D)
An advanced accounting course which provides a basic understanding of accounting procedures applicable to inventory control, cost accounting, corporation, taxation and adjustments. This course provides an excellent background for those wishing to go on to post-secondary and/or professional accounting. Students will have access to a computer lab for purposes of learning accounting software and applications.
