| Introduction: These courses are designed to give boys or girls practical experience in building and designing cabinets or furniture as well as experience in house construction, all while learning the theory behind the practices. Woodworking, plastic laminates, finishing, sandblasting, concrete casting, framing, roofing and design are areas of study in these courses. Proper use and set up of power and hand tools are emphasized throughout the program. If you are interested in a trade such as Carpentry, Cabinetmaking, Cement Finishing, Roofing or other related trades, you can get an idea of what is involved in the trade and also gain some valuable skills needed in these trades. Or, if you are only interested in building a few projects and developing skills you can use throughout your life, these are good courses to take. CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES 1D Introductory Level 1 (5-6 Credits) (No Prerequisite)
Construction Technologies 1D is an introductory level course in which proper use and setup of power and hand tools is emphasized. Students will construct several projects in wood, plastic, laminates and other materials which they will take home upon completion. |

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES 2D Intermediate Level (Up to 6 Credits) (Prerequisite: Construction Technologies 1D)
Students will be instructed in current wood frame construction methods as they produce cabinets and/or a piece of furniture. In addition, a mass production production project will be created by the class. |

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES 3D Advanced Level (Up to 6 Credits) (Prerequisite: Construction Technologies 2D)
Students will assist in the design of a marketable product to be mass produced in class. Mold making,casting or presses will be investigated and will be a related project. |
