The AKA (the Association to Kill Apathy) is LCI’s student activist club. This is the sixth year that the AKA has been running at LCI, and each year the club gets bigger and more ambitious. All of the AKA projects are chosen and run by students with teachers acting as consultants rather than organizers. In the past, the AKA has created Peacepoles for all of the schools in the Lethbridge School Division, created a Fair Trade Cafe, raised awareness about AIDS, and led campaigns to address Climate Change and Environmental degradation, as well as various other projects. This year the club has (currently) 51 members, and has established 15 different projects for this school year. If you are interested in joining, talk to Mr. D. Fletcher (D312).
